Gave it a quick wash (3.5 hours). I remember the days when a quick wash was 20 minutes with a bucket full of hot water and fairly liquid..... :signLOL:

Why did it take you 3.5 hrs? I've now whittled my time to 1hr. This is snowfoam/rinse/2BM/rinse/sheet/dry/QD and includes taking time to take things out and put things away.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Taking my time I guess! And I turned out not to really be a quick wash once I got going.

Blast with the Karcher.
2BM.
Rinse.
Put Karcher etc away.
Dry
Polished with AF Rejuvenate
PB Black Hole.
AF Tough Coat
PB Wheel Sealant
Blackfire Total Eclipse Tyre Gel
AG Fast Glass.
Rain-X

Sorted out the rattling engine cover on mine. One hot glue gun and a pack of glue sticks later and no more rattle!
How hard can it be?

Connected up my new ctek battery conditioner I got for Christmas as the GTI will be sitting unused for a week or two (clear out tip duty next week so using the other car) and the GTI has sat unused for the past few weeks due to floods and poor weather.

Stuck on the first of my two build # plaques.........

The other plaque is going in front of my gearshift on the 'ashtray' cover.

Loving the build plaque Robin! Looks great on the carbon engine cover  :notworthy:

Fitted my Polar Fis+ PF03 today. Was a prezzy from Santa.
Despite the issues others have had, mine seems to be working ok. Havent configured any custom parameters yet though.

Also finally wired in my heated seats! Guide coming soon!

Seeing that Polar display really makes me sick that I didn't go for the Highline when I ordered my GTI back in 2005  :sad1:

Glad to hear yours has been trouble free  :happy2:

The trouble is the whole hassle (and extra cost) of swapping the display clocks as well as fitting the Polar. I've managed to drive 104,000 miles without it so far!

Fully detailed it 2 days back, washed it today and then sealed the wheels! Looking sexy...

Did the boot pop mod a couple of hours ago. All working although as others have mentioned it doesn't work great in this cold weather, but still a cool mod :happy2:

Mine is the same. I wonder if a bit of round/one sided-adhesive pad added where the spring loaded release touches would give it a bit more UMPH?
I will try tomorrow and let you know w/pics of what I use, OK?
