Fitted mtec 55w dip beam and the super white side lights today, really impressed with them but i made the mistake of not ordering the main beam bulbs but will do when I get round to it.

Still waiting for the number plate bulbs to be delivered, can't wait to get them fitted and see them in the dark.

........I'm slowly slipping down the route of modding  :grin: oh dear

Yeh I've been researching lowering springs and plan on getting a revision G DV then a custom remap in the spring I did plan on keeping her standard when I brought her in October.

Brought a Chinese RCD510 which doesn't have RDS so looking to replace that too.

Its not going too be cheap what ever I do  :happy2:

Nicely done.

Are you opening your fogs yourself? If so I can show you what/how I did mine;

What bulbs have you got in your full beam? Got a link to them?

Yes I do. They are yellow H7 bulbs;

@ Craig: Apparently the reason that the early Mk5 GTI's had open panels (on DSG cars only) was that VW thought that the DSG oil would need cooling but they found it not to be the case and the design was dropped.

And your car will flip over at 199mph so be careful!  :innocent:

.
Today I drove 462 miles with just one half-hour coffee break. I don't want to publish what my average speed was for the journey but I loved every mile and took no risks. Now I'm home I'm beginning to feel a bit tired.

Had a nasty moment about 10 miles into the journey - It was still dark but the sunrise was looking good... I came around a bend on an A-road to find a huge hedge trimming vehicle at work and a piece of hedge lodged itself somewhere on the inside of my brake disc. It made a horrible scrunching and whining sound but inspection with a torch didn't show anything because I couldn't see everywhere. I quickly established that the engine temperature was stable and that brakes and throttle were working properly. I then decided to go into the next roundabout rather fast in order to work the suspension and it freed whatever it was. I think it's time I removed my brake stone guards.

There were no advanced warning signs for that wretched bushtrimmer! :fighting:

I wish I knew that. I do get more attention flashing the yellows at somebody so they will wake up and drive. You know the ones doing 10+ mph under the max in the quick lane, yes?

Nearly got done for speeding... Down the exit road, last blast to empty the exhaust like you do, but didn't realise in lane 3 was an unmarked BMW 535D then trying to keep up speedie exit. Fortunately I'd already slowed to 70mph before he could get behind me.So I got the cruise alongside me and the evil "No" head shake...he then carried on his way without stopping me.....lesson learned.. :scared:
