My mirror covers went from this

To this last night

Now need to decide on what to do with the side repeater on the mirror. Wrap or spray smokey stuff

A small 7"x8"sheet of Lamin-x will cover the pair twice if needed. I divide and cut one sheet into four pieces, forget which way(I think so you have 4 smaller sheets 2"x7"), and you're left with a pair to hang on to or cover the front side markers with.

Get some Lamin-x

....Why? What's wrong with clear indicators? Isn't their visibility stronger when left OEM clear?

Yes, the visibility is a lot stronger with the OEM clear ones. I fitted the In-Pro smoked repeaters and asked a friend who is an MOT tester to have a look at them, he saiid that they are ok but are dull. I've since added LED's to the repeaters and the light is back to (if not better) than the OEM light output.

Before

After

....That looks like a great solution, especially if the light output is actually stronger.

How easy was this to do and what sort of cost, please?  :happy2: - Separate thread in the How-To section?

Paid R Tech yet another visit, got the TiV mapping done (already have Stage 1.5 with them), the car accelerates much smoother now, bloody well worth the 180 mile round trip in my eyes! :-D

tdijetta- where did you get those black covers please....having a bit of trouble getting OEM paint quality thro ebay.

They are wrapped with this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190688987983?var=490073406378&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
You need to be patient at fitting, heating and stretching, just a quick fix instead of either buying new or painting existing.
I also bought some matt black wrap from them as i might change the interior.
There was a black pair ing the for sale threads somewhere, they might be gone now tho.
I hope this helps Paul

No shame in that. What would be shameful would be not putting VW logos on them...
