Had some misfires developing in cyl's. 4, then 1 and 4, and then 1,2 and 4. Replace the coils...and it runs amazing again.
Also, so you know, I low-tech tested the coils by unplugging each one separately and each did cause the idle to turn rough as it should if the coils are OK. But I learned that they can still fail when they are under load.

Had the rears replaced to match the front. Now have GYF1A all round. Not massively impressed - more grippy but also makes things feel more wallowy. Maybe I need to change the tyre pressures from 37psi.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I was chauffeured home from the hospital in GTi, by my wife, having had 10 injections in my back - the bonus is all my wrinkles on my lower back have gone along with my cellulite, so the nurses said

Wee bit of work done today, So I got the car up on Axel's, whipped the R32's off.  Cleaned the brakes with wire brush and applied 4 coats of Red VHT Caliper paint, it said on tin dry within 1 hour but it was touch dry within 20mins.  Masked up all the brakes & Wasn't too bad actually,

Fitted the winter wheels.

Degudodger - where did you get that AUX IN kit? I take it it's not a VW item?

I'm looking at this myself.

Bought off ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121226622110?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I believe its a MK6 part but as with most things MK6 it also fits the MK5  :happy2:

Mine was stamped with a part number (can't remember what it is), if it isn't genuine then it is a bloody good copy!
