Finger prints - yes, but are easily wiped clean

Minor surface scratches are easily polished out  :happy2:

It's no easier to damage than the standard plastic finish

Thinking about it, the finish that he uses is used on exteriors, so I think it's fairly tough - I was seriously contemplating getting the R32 lower rear bumper insert hydro dipped as i reckon he could achieve a finish darn near osir's proper carbon insert.

^^^^ That will look awesome. I paid £80 for the 2 dash trim pieces. Am sending off a load more pieces to be done now!  :pomppomp:

For those that've asked. Here's a pic of mine. Needs rebuilding and fitting but looks the nuts IMO.......

Nice

Was thinking out getting the plastic surrounding my DSG gear stick done as mine has a scratch which is bugging me and have found a place locally that does it.

If it's a deep scratch, you may want to consider buying a new piece of trim from TPS, and send him that for dipping. It's only a very thin layer that is added, so imperfections in the moulding or damage will not necessarily be covered up by this process.

Don't forget the mention the forum if you contact him.

If you're local to Maidstone and want to see his work, I'm happy to meet up to show you the interior pieces he did for me  :happy2:

Looks awesome  :happy2:

I'm glad that you've had some parts done by Adrian. The guy's work is excellent, and with you being a 'fairly'   active poster on here, I could see him getting some more business from the forum.

IIRC he did my stereo surround, top vent surround, ash tray surround, gear gaitor surround (all shown in my pic), passenger & driver side vents and drivers side door handle for about £120. I need to get my passenger handle (and head light switch surround - if I can ever remove the bugger) to him to complete the interior  :happy2:

I'd happily recommend his work to anyone, and I'm sure that Adrian would sort a discount for forum members.

I'll be sending off the other interior parts to be done after receiving those bits back. I wondered about that headlight switch surround too.

Will happily recommending him too, great work, quick turn around a reasonable price.

 :happy2:

Thanks man, in Milton Keynes so not very local

I just assumed they would strip the existing coating and then dip it after rather than just cover the existing material???

I wondered about that headlight switch surround too.

Mine seems to be plastic welded to the lower section of the dash, and not easily removable at all. I'm sure I read that on some mk5s, you remove the highlight switch and the T25 screw behind it and the surround come out. Mine is deffo not that simple  :sad1:

Sadly I don't actually know the process used. I know that it is very thin layer tho as there is very small crease-like line in the moulding of the driver side arm rest, which became apparent due to the high gloss finish. It is very tricky to see though.

I finally got round to changing my cam follower, as well as swapping my DV from a Rev C (looked fine) to a Rev D  :happy2:

I posted a bit of a guide, in case anyone else had to tackle a fuel pump with a banjo bolt

Next job is to take out my front seats and see if bypassing the yellow connectors underneath will get rid of my airbag warning light  :chicken:
