Dropped the ol' 2007 off for a valve job. It needs a right rear bass speaker...rear O2 sensor...new valve seals...maybe some valve stem guides...and (hopefully not) piston rings.  :sad1:

Had a great weekend that's deepened my love for my car...

Put some Michelin Super Sports on. The tyre guy said its the first time ever in 16yrs, where the alloys were balanced perfectly and he didn't need to put any weights on it.
Had it machined polished the day before and already had two people stop me and offer to buy it

It looks like piston seal rings in cyl's. 3 and 4 may be shot. Everything is soaked in them including the intake ports and valves. All the exhaust ports looked similarly dry...so it is getting soaked during back pressure and leaching oil into the intake side...and why I was seeing smoke during the coasting and initial takeoffs. This is the general consensus so far between my tech and the valve shop tech. More will be determined after seeing the tolerance results for the 3 and 4 cyl. valve guides, but it appears I will be doing rings in addition to the valve seals and guides.

Fitted some Porsche 986 front calipers today (NQSBBK).
Got an awesome pedal feel straight away and the pads still need bedding in!
I would recommend this mod to anyone.
Thanks to Alex at AKS Tuning for sorted the kit out including wheel spacers, adaptors (DaveB Vagbremtechnic), bolts and brake lines.
Very happy

Just replacing the valve stem seals, stem guides, piston rings, and rod bearings. All the bits are only 20% of the total bill...so I didn't want to skip what can be addressed while it is torn apart.

Previously used the 3M Headlight restoration kit, this time used Autosol to treat the yellowing of my headlights. Smeared it in, left for a few minutes and then rubbed it off with a microfibre cloth.  Worked an absolute treat and only took 15 mins!
