My last set were Toyo R888.  They were outstanding in the Dry.  Noisy though.  The R1R is meant to have almost as much grip as R888 but better in the wet due to rain channels

The tricky thing with tyres is that there can be so much variation between two sets of tyres, even of the same make model. This can be due to many reasons even down to the time of year they are made.

My point is, they are both good sets of tyres with good reviews, its a bit of a 50/50 chance of which ones you buy will be the best, so unless you buy both sets you will never know which is the best set.

If you really want the best set then have a look around and look for reviews from people with Golf GTIs, however don't stress about the decision too much as unless you are going to be driving the car on the limit all the time you will not have any trouble with either the yokis or the toyos.

Hope this helps.

I've had both tyes, and found the Parada's very noisy and not having the grip of the Toyo's. Also the Parada is a very old design as the Toyo being 1 year old design and therefore incorporating the latest tech stuff it will clearly get my vote.  :happy2:

I am going for the Toyo T1 Sports for the road. They are better than the T1R and have a much stiffer tyre wall and wider tread pattern.  Very similar in design to the Goodyear asymetrics :happy2:

Noone hare has mentioned the Toyo T1R, we are talking about the R1R. But on a sidenote i considered the T1Sport along with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, and it was a close run, the T1Sport is one of the best roadtyres that has some track use in it  :happy2:

I know they were talking about the R1R my friend but I thought Id stick my ten penneth worth into the mix anyway :happy2:  Its good to know about the T1 Sports as Ive not read any reviews and was going to get them purely based on that I used to have the T1R and they are excellent tyres.
