Feckin lack of 5 door manual edition 30s !

Thats 4 months now and not a single one has been for sale in scotland, Infact the last one that i seen for sale was keiths (from here)
There seems to be a fair few down south, but im not willing to travel that far.

Im thinking of chucking the hunt now and buying a ford  :sick: !

You will regret it! You will purchase a ford and then every day of your life you will park next to an ED30 and regret it :happy2:

Head south and buy a bargain..

don't blow your money on a ford unless your going into mk2 RS.

There's a Pirelli 5 Door at GTI World/Western VW at Fort Kinnaird , Edinburgh , nearly £16K though and theres no pics on the ad yet. They have an Eddy as well but its 3 door.

i too wanted a manual 5 dr and had to wait for ages, in the end found a good one but an EU import - which was fine as cheaper than a UK model but no pescaras or an alarm even!

The serach is hard, but do persist the right car will appear when you least expec it, for some reason i really want DSG, so a decent spec is hard to find  :happy2:

I ended up travelling to Newcastle for mine but saved £1500 compared to Scottish prices. Well worth a journey!

I would recommend widening your area you are willing to travel, you save yourself a few pounds and that GTi world in Edinburgh is very expensive but they seen to be the only place in Scotland that has a decent collection of GTi's but they are just a small part of the main VW dealer there.

Its not really a big deal to buy a car down south and would possibly save you a few quid as well and the good thing is the further you travel to pick up your car the longer you have to enjoy it on the journey home.

I would wait and get the car you want rather than one that isnt.  I also wouldnt buy a Mk2 FRS as they arent all they are made up to be.  Id rather buy a second hand evo 9 for a lot less and still be quicker and handle better than the FRS.  Personally I would wait to get the ED30, as one will come along in the right spec etc.  Just a case of keep looking and dont be put of by travelling.
