Quick Clean of the GTI
« on: June 14, 2011, 09:49:03 pm »
Nothing exciting, been detailing the GTI a few panels at a time for a few weeks, gave it a detailed wash tonight and thought I'd share a couple of pics with you lot. Still plenty to do!

Thanks

Simon

I really do love black when it's clean. Do I spy stone chips?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I had my car detailed recently and I swear it had more stone chips than metallic flakes on the bonnet!  :scared:

It's barely reached 27k miles!

:scared: I dont feel quite as bad now. May have the front end painted at some point....depends if I manage to get my little rust spots sorted under warranty.

Still its not ruining my enjoyment of the car, still loving it

Oh you had it detailed, not your own work this time?

No. I now live on a main road and there's no driveway. Hence anything I do to the car has to be done whilst it's on the main road! Thankfully, there's parking restrictions so no one can block the road in front of the garage. Means I can get up at 6am on a Sunday and be done before any traffic hits the road! I can do everything except machine polishing as I don't have a dust free, enclosed space, so my G220 doesn't get the outings it used to.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Looks great dude!!

Mine is littered with stone chips too, including a mark where a meteor appears to have hit it :(

Have you done stone chips before Jaz?  The timing is good when you're doing yours - I'm going on the KDS Keltec wet sanding course at the end of July, so I'm sure we can figure it out between us :)

I used to be indecisive.......... but now I'm not so sure!

No not done it before. Have tried wetsanding with 3000 grit but need to practice tbh.
