Lower half and front bumper
« on: September 01, 2012, 10:30:15 pm »
After snowfoam, citrus power soak and shampoo im still finding stubborn marks/dirt/bugs on the front and sides of the car, can anyone recommend a good cleaner i could use to get rid of this, i did see this, but not sure if its a bit overboard if it could potentially strip the wax/sealant off? http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/autosmart-g101.html

cheers

Potentially your snowfoam could strip the LSP off if it's concentrated enough.

I would either use a dedicated bug remover (which I don't have), or just strip back the protrction eg tardis, clay, repolish and protect.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

What does LSP stand for?

A good way of removing bugs from the car is to get an old cotton bed sheet soaked in hot water and placed over the bonnet/front valance and left for half an hour. Works a treat :happy2:

I saw a member on DW forum using towels soaked in water (soapy?) and draped over the front of his Fiat 500 Abarth.

^^^^ ok I've got the wire wool....... Which shoe polish?

Anywho, the warm damp cloth method with a car wash of some description is my Dads method on his cars. Helped him more than a few times as a kid and it works.

At what stage do you use a apc/citrus to remove bug and grime, I'm assuming you agitate it after a snowfoam so then you don't rub dirt in with the shampoo?
