iPad and Sky email
« on: June 15, 2011, 09:12:35 am »
Looking for a bit of help from anyone with an iPad 1 and sky email.

Up until yesterday I was able to view my sky emails via my iPad but now I cannot.

I go into sky.com, click on email, enter my username and password but then a message appears on the iPad on a clear white screen saying : Can't verify server identity 'The page you requested is invalid' - I do however see my emails account for a split second before it blanks out to the message

I can however view my emails if I sign in on our home PC and my work laptop so it seems an issue with the iPad/safari as opposed to sky email.

When I go back to sky.com, it indicates that I am signed in and tells me how many unread emails I have (a little red number next to the email icon) but if I click on email, I get the same message again.

This only started yesterday and I have not done any ipad updates or anything.

Have one of my kids changed one of the settings ?

Help appreciated

Thanks

Settings/safari clear temp or cashe or history then hold power button and the home button together till you get an apple on screen. The ipad will restart then give it another go

Thanks

Does holding the home button and power button not reset the iPad ?

Will I lose anything.

I normally turn off the iPad by holding the power button down until I see the apple logo rather than leaving it in standby

Edd

I have just followed your instructions apart from the reset bit and email is working again. Obviously one of our history/cache memories was full or something

Thankyou

I had just got home from work so went to sleep after that post! Basically its a soft reset, you lose nothing and can really help the ipad/iphone performance by doing it. Think of turning your pc off and on. Its used when the ipad/phone crashes or has a weird problem. I do it to about a million ipad/iphones a day lol
