Necessary to adjust Revo settings after TBE?
« on: June 16, 2011, 10:52:58 am »
Been meaning to ask this for a while...

Is it necessary or recommended to adjust my Revo settings after fitting a Milltek TBE or will it adjust itself accordingly?

My current settings are: B7 T4 F7.

ARe you stage 1 or 2 Mandy?

Traditionally a move to a TBE means you can go Stage2 and all that will bring..... :driver:

Sorry, forgot to say, Stage 1.

No plans for Stage 2 at this point, already have enough  :driver:

I actually asked my local REVO dealer this same question yesterday, as I will move to stage 1 after my GIAC issues, and have the option of getting a Milltek TBE and was told that there is no need to adjust the setting after fitting the TBE, but it may help gain whatever performance is available with the new exhaust... not sure if that helps or not?

Yes that has helped, thank you. You might as well get the TBE, if the option's there, why not.

I do remember briefly Kate said it wouldn't need adjusting, just wanted to see what other people in the same situation did.

You most likely will get a cel light on because of the different gas flow now created. Stage 2 Revo switches the second sensor off to clear this problem. 99% of cars will get this cel light with in 15 miles of fitting the zorst. + the stage 2 map is so much better, not just in pace.

I never had a CEL on my Ed30 with Stage 1 Superchips and even stock. You only get a CEL if you don't drive it right.  :driver:

My car must be the 1% then lol , had the TBE fitted for a few hundred miles now and no lights have come on.

I've never really considered going stage 2 because then I'd prob be looking into CAI's, HPFP, intercooler etc etc.... and it'll be never ending!

However, I was trying to find out earlier how much extra it costs to go Revo stage 2 though  :ashamed:, I'm sure it's cheaper cos I already have stage 1.

£50+VAT for upgrade from S1 to S2 isn't it?

I was also told that you need S2 to prevent the CEL from coming on when fitting a TBE rather than CBE.

You sure you've got a TBE then Mandy?  :signLOL:

If you never intended to go S2 then why did you get a TBE instead of CBE??

Not with a 200CEL cat. 100CEL most definitely but provided you drive it right even the standard map is fine.

is the standard Milltek DP 200CEL then?

In that case...are we being conned with the marketing spiel of "needing" S2 when fitting a DP too??  :surprised:

I'm considering S2 myself as the DP is the only bit i need now but don't think the clutch will cope somehow and I don't really fancy having a heavy duty clutch again.

Yes standard Milltek Cat is 200CEL. As for the rest well you decide.... :innocent:

Perhaps it's done as a coverall incase people fit them and then have CEL.
