I know a guy who regularly does 7:45-7:50 BtG in a standard Megane, they are quick cars.

A member on VAGOC has done a 7.39 BTG, should be able to knock another 10 secs off that time with a factory driver

Allowing 25 seconds difference between BtG and full lap that'd be around a 7:55 full lap, assume that isn't a standard car though?

All the articles have mentioned the car having extra sticky tyres, Bridgestone RE050A.

But most people and magazine reviews don't rate the Bridgestones. (Didn't they fit just Conti Sport 3s to the Clio RS?) So why did they fit these tyres then?

"Renault Sport has chosen the UHP Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyre" (http://www.bridgestone.co.uk/press/press-releases/2011/renault-sport-chooses-the-bridgestone-potenza-re050a-for-megane-rs-trophy)

"What's particularly impressive about the time is that, despite the fact that the latest Megane Trophy is a limited edition, it is not a stripped-out hardcore special like the R26.R was, but not all that much more than a Renaulsport Megane with a tad more power and some sticky tyres (15 extra hp and 15lb ft extra, to be precise)"...
