De-cats and lambda sensors

I'm toying with the idea of de-catting the car, so is it best to have the map re-written to ignore the 2nd lambda sensor - or should I get a dummy lambda? if so, where from?

stage 2 map takes care of it as jonny does not have a cat on his

I remember him saying, however I don't have Revo - will have to speak to Superchips to see if they're happy to amend mine?

I have this problem, but just drive really fast all the time stopping me looking inside the cabin.  :laugh:
I keep meaning to ring up and find out if there is a fix for this without going to stage 2. Mike at Votex mentioned there is a little box you can buy to bypass it for the Jap cars, but doesn't know if there is one for the golf.  :smiley:

I don't think TC even has a map, so its not as if its a case of going from stage 1 to stage 2...

Which brings me to this question...TC are you planning on mapping at all?

I am not convinced by the benefits of stage 2, maybe just me getting my threads mixed up, but you Chris and RR all started having little niggley problems when going stage 2. As i say you may be able to explain them away with other causes but its not for me at this time. Its plenty fast at the moment.  :smiley:

My problems were all exhaust related. The CEL came on because an exhaust mount broke (where the exhaust joins), and so air was getting into the system pre-lambda, and therefore setting it off. Stage 2 has not affected my car in any adverse way  :smiley: Hope this helps.

I base all my factual asumptions on specific hearsay, I know ben's ran fine on stage 2. Chris did your BHP go up any with stage 2.

Hijack? Nah it's all relevant TC, as I'll possibly need a variant of stage2 to cope - unless I can find a dummy lambda to fool the ECU. 

I understand the majority of the issues to come from the fuel pump at stage 2, so I'm not that fussed really as I won't be pushing it to the limits in that respect. I'm hoping for different characteristics rather than a load more power.
