Screamer pipe?
« on: July 10, 2011, 10:36:14 am »
Guys I've heard of these before on corsa vxr's and a few imprezas but am not really sure what they hell they do?
Do they give any power gains aswell as a better sound? Do they make them for a ko4 ed30? Bit unsure but wouldn't mind some more turbo noise
Cheers
Jack

Generally the screamer pipe comes off the wastegate - and is then plumbed back down the main pipe as far back as possible ( remember the 944 turbo's back in the day)
However, if left to atmosphere they just vent off producing lots and I do mean lots of noise when the car reaches maximum boost. To give some idea of noise remember this is not going through the turbo is pure manifold noise.
Tiresome is the word I think most of us would use after the novelty had worn off
