Thinking of an R-Tech Stage 1 remap
« on: June 25, 2011, 06:14:33 pm »
Hi I'm thinking of getting one.
I read claims that they can boost MPG. Is this so?
Can any owners of remapped cars verify this?
Thanks

Matt

The way it works is they give you more torque lower down in the rev range meaning you can change earlier...the flip side is it uses more fuel when you press the loud peddle!

Remember your insurance will go up too with a remap, so i wouldn't get one if you think it will give you more mpg, get one for more fun.

There are many topics on REMAPS, use the search function to find ones relating to mpg.

Is that an actual R-tech map as they are DNA dealers? I would ask.
Mk2 Octavia vRS with K04 conversion, 3"TBE & Decat, APR HPFP, BDM Intake, S3 I/C, Sachs clutch & Unicorn custom map, S3 brakes, AP coilovers, THS mounts.

Rtech are a very good reliable company and cannot help you enough, nick write his own maps and is also a dealer of revo so you can choose what you want, and yes mpg will improve if driven sensibly but if the extra power is used it will slightly decrease as expected
