+1 for WRC - i'm gonna drop some Pescara's off there soon.

I've got 2 spare detroits - 1 mint and 1 with surface scratches on the black (not the lip) - may be willing to let the surface scratched one go if you need to get 2 refurbed.  :happy2:

Yeah, that's what I'm a bit concerned about. I don't mind paying a fair bit to have the kerbed one repaired, but I'm reluctant to have a perfect wheel done and have that cost double.

I found odd Detroits on eBay not so long ago at very good prices.

It may be worth keeping an eye out for them as nobody seems to buy odd ones.

So rare now, I am thinking about taking mine off when the tyres are fooked and storing them for prosperity.

There is a company selling a brand new one on ebay for £225, but they say it has surface marks so it seems a bit steep. Other than that I've seen single wheels for sale at shop4volkswagen.co.uk for £314.

When I got mine they were approx £120 each.

Private sellers.

I may take mine off like I said and just get them out for shows.

There's no need to buy an entire new alloy! It can be refurbed

Oh yeah, for sure. I thinking more along the lines of, should I have to have them refurbed in a pair, buying a scruffy single wheel, so I'm paying to have two damaged wheels done, rather than one damaged, and one perfect one. That way I'd have a spare one.

I can PM you tomorrow if you like with pictures of mine with surface scratches. No damage to the lip - I imported it from a vw dealer who had it in a showroom - thinking I could polish out the scratches. I've not attempted to as I was worried I would make it shiney!

Yeah, that would be worth seeing. Don't rush though - I'm thinking I'll leave the refurb until November when I put the winter wheels on.
