seriously at what rpm does yours kick in?
Kicks in at around 3750.

depends on map obv but you should be full boost by 3k rpm imho
mines getting well into its stride even by 2500 rpm

Tell me about it. When you're flooring it on a DC and traffic's coming up fast behind you, you need both hands on the steering wheel. At this moment, DSG paddles would be really handy.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

seems late that pal, can't remember exactly where my mapped ED30 used to kick in, but my S3 is earlier than that :happy2:

Ok tried it on the way home from work, starts to spool at about 2300rpm and is kicking in well from about 2750rpm, so yours kicks in quite late

K03 from 1750rpm and a K04 from 2250rpm, so you're about spot on Gaz :happy2:

i had a full blue flame system on my old lcr, the difference was amazing after putting it on, spooled up a hell of a lot quicker and felt a lot more torquey, would highly recommend buying a blue flame system

i can definately say the blueflame sounds :grin:.i heard matts yesterday and it reminds me of god gargling rocks :signLOL:


....I haven't heard a Blueflame on the GTI yet and look forward to doing so. However, "god gargling rocks" sounds a bit rough to me.

A track car sound on the road attracts too much unwanted attention.

Has anyone got experience of this?  Does it make a big difference to torque, and fuel consumption?

it allows more fuel to be injected when the standard one runs out of capacity.

so with a tweak to the remap, you can hold boost bit longer and gain more torque / bhp as a result.

but fitting one without a remap is pointless.

and yes, i wouldn't try doing a DIY install on a HPFP.

recommendations?  APR / KMD / AWE / Autotech all do HPFP kits. APR's one is a complete fuel pump done at their factory, so costs more.
