Hi.My car is due a service next week.I have booked it in at main dealer.Do you think it matters where you have it serviced?
I work in the car trade and can get it done a lot cheaper and put genuine parts in.I would appeciate your input :happy2:

Any vat registered garage can do the service provided they use genuine parts.
The rub is that if your car comes out of warranty then shortly thereafter develops a problem that would have been fixed under warranty, VW are less likely to offer goodwill with its repair if you don't have a full vw service history.

fwiw I've never used a VW dealer for servicing.
Without traction power is nothing!

Another angle you may or may not wish to consider:

If one day you are looking to sell then a service history which shows services have been carried out at VW will offer greater peace of mind to 8/10 buyers* when you are looking to sell your car on - a key selling point for most buyers is a Full VW Service History. Thus making your car more saleable and halping you to maintain re-sale value.

The other 2 in 10* punters probably aren't bothered or are willing to accept that services were carried out at a reliable garage with genuine parts.

*numbers made up for sake of making the point, I'm not quoting official market research  :signLOL:

heres a trick i use and its worked every time.  I pluck a figure out of the air and tell the stealer if he can match it he gets the service.
