Snow Foam.... which?
« on: June 26, 2011, 11:55:03 pm »
Hello,

Looking at getting a snow foam lance and some snow foam.  Not sure which to get tho.  I know alot of its down to people just having their preference but just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Any ideas which I should go for?

Thanks

Autobrite one is supposed to be good. A lot of people seem to think of snowfoam as allowing them tl do touchless washes, and are then disappointed when the car isn't spotlessly clean.

If you leave used dishes overnight, the food hardens and it's a pain to get off. But if you soal the dishes, most of it comes off more easily. Similar to how you should use snowfoam.

I still follow up a snowfoam with 2BM.

Valet pro. Our forum's own Keith supplied my snow foam & lance, I've been very happy with both.

I4 Detailing snow foam has been fine for me.

Autobrite Magiform and Meguiars Hyperwash have good reputations also.

My preferred use is a thorough rinse with the PW then foam, leave it to dwell for a bit then a two bucket wash using the snow foam as extra lubrication.

Works for me anyway

Another Valet Pro vote here too.

While you're at it get some Bilberry Wheel Cleaner too.

Thanks for eveyones replies!  Ended up buying valet pro ph neutral and did go for some bilberry wheel cleaner while i was at it!

Not sure now wether to use the pressure washer attachment to get all the foam or use the pump sprayer.  Was reading on the valet pro website the pump gives better cleaning but now foam.  Any ideas folks?  Presume most people use a pressure washer.  Just curious?

Thanks

I use a foam attachment for a pressure washer.  I use a hand spray for the wheel cleaner.

To generate foam you need both air an water. Pump sprayer, hosepipe attachments etc only provide water. Get yourself a proper foam lance or IMO there was no point in buying snowfoam!

VP Ph foam can be used though a foam lance or via pump sprayer and they reckon the later is the better method. I have put loads of stuff through my foam lance, Duragloss901, AS Duet, Megs shampoo+, all sorts of foam. Where i am based I need to use an anti foaming agent when I am finished to disperse the stuff but this was only after I started using a well known foam as it lay for days on end. now use a ph nuetral or a touchless foam depending on what I am doing or my own shampoo.
