When I had my intake on I fitted the heat shield and just wrapped the pipe with exhaust wrap.  Equally you can buy heat shield tape and wrap that around.  I recently put heat shielding tape under my OE engine cover that reflects upto 90% of the radiant heat.  It cost me £16 for 10 meters and that would be more than enough to completely wrap the pipe.
I puchased mine from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300563370760&category=38786&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619

Matsu,

PCV allows the crankcase to vent (Positive Crankcase Vent) worth reading

http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthread.php?3590165-eurojet-pcv-fix
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crankcase_ventilation_system

if the PCV fails then you will experience an eratic idle as the crank case wont be in vacum if PCV is the issue then there are a few fixes from OEM replacement to PCV fixes that remove the issue I think Danish recently fitted one to his car, as you have your engine cover removed it will be easy to see the PCV as it has a nice round part at the front center of your engine.

If its missing at all speeds I would suggest new plugs.  The misfire my car had earlier in the topic was cured by fitting new plugs even though the plugs that were knackered were only 2 months old  :surprised:  If it is still doing it then check your coil packs but they normally would bring up a fault code.

I have the OE engine cover fitted.  I was going to take some pics but I have broken my foot and am just about able to walk on it.  I am going to see if I can get out tomorrow and take some pics as something to do
