Just been quoted £150 for my CV boot as it's now split. Main VW dealer.

My car failed MOT on nsf cv boot last weekend. £200 total bill including price of MOT, labour and VAT.  :surprised:  :sad:

Mine failed on my last mot, about 5 months ago. Cost £18+vat  for boot comes with new clips, ring and grease.

I did it myself took less than an hour. Worse bit was splitting cv from shaft. Purchase one from VW then get a local garage to fit tops will be is £50. 1 hour labour.

Never found out mate although coincidentally I replaced my front disks yesterday and remembered somebody saying the chip ones always popped off etc.. Well checked both sides and all seems well, no splits or grease and everything appears where it should be.

OK, cool.  This is the time of year when the plastic ones get all rigid and pop off - so looks like your safe. :driver:
