Flashing Indicators
« on: July 02, 2011, 03:50:09 pm »
Parked up about 4 hours ago and just been out to my car and the indicators are all flashing. Opened and closed with the fob and they have gone out. Don't know how long they have been going for but this is the first time this has happened. Any ideas.

This is just a guess but could the alarm have gone off?  As the indicators on some alarms (no experience with the GTI) can continue to flash after the alarm siren has stopped....

Seems a bit strange. Hopefully it was just having a one-off funny moment

Did you have any windows open? The interior monitor sensors will pick up changes in temperature and activate the alarm....the lights will flash for a couple of minutes.

Checked the windows and all were shut. I thought that at the time.
Kept popping out last night and first thing this morning and all was fine, so hopefully it was just having a one-off funny moment.

Is your alarm siren definitely working - worth checking that. If it is working ok, you know it is not down to the alarm going off (if you are sure that you would have heard it)

Might be worth checking. I suppose its a good thing that I have never heard the alarm going.
Worried now in case it dosen't work!

Its not the loudest of sirens, mine went off with me inside it once and it didnt shock me thought it was someone else's alarm for a time.

Tested the alarm and all is working fine.
Must say it made me jump its that loud, certainly wouldn't have missed it going off.
Indicators haven't gone since but I'm becoming paranoid with going out and checking, scared it will flatten my battery.
