PayPal Update? Safe?....
« on: July 07, 2011, 06:29:36 pm »
.
I'm paranoic about PayPal and eBay security and so naturally suspicious of every email I receive from them.

The latest is "Notice Of Changes To The PayPal User Agreement". Has anyone else received this and do you know if it's genuine, please?

Just log into your Paypal and you would receive any messages regarding it when logging onto your account  :happy2:

I ignore any emails nowadays because of all the scams going about. I simply just log into my account the normal way and check it

*EDIT*

I also do the same with E-Bay

I recieved the same email, Robin..

When ever I get emails like that I just delete them and log into what ever site they are from as I normaly would, they should be a message on the site about it if its a real email..

I got the same email but for safety didn't click on any links contained therein.

As above, never click any paypal links from these emails... They are after your passwords and other personal details  :fighting:

I quite often get bogus emails saying about recent transactions that I've made to people, asking me to click here and follow link, but when you go to pay pals address, they simply don't exsist.

I always send these emails and Mark them as phishing scams on hotmail's filtering setup.

Most, if not all legit emails from ebay/paypal will address you by your name/username rather than just 'Sir/Madam/Customer'.  :happy2:

I receive several emails a month from "paypal" confirming payments to random users. They're always just phishing scams. Best bet is to ignore as has been said. Paypal will always address you by name so that's an easy way to spot fakes  :happy2:

And here I was, thinking that it was just me being paranoic . Thanks, guys.

Sad state of affairs isn't it when a company name/brand can't be trusted.

Main thing is to not panic if you ever get anything dodgy as they try to scare you into reacting without thinking  :fighting:

Don't worry, it takes a heck of a lot more than that to cause me any degree of panic.  :happy2:
