Windscreen misting up
« on: July 10, 2011, 03:00:16 pm »
Hi All,

I have noticed my front windscreen mists up really really quickly all the bloody time. 2 seconds blast with the aircon and its gone. 10 seconds later you can see it coming back. The car does not appear damp and it doesn't appear to do this anywhere else in the car.

Any ideas?

RainX anti fog solution form Halfords or similar should do the trick?

The external one is good aswell, rain beads off your screen like it does off well waxed paint work...  :happy2:

Might be a daft suggestion but check that:

1.  You don't have 'air recirculation' set on your aircon panel.

2. The pollen filter isn't blocked, which causes water to be held & easily mists up the screen.

3. Your interior screen isn't dirty. That tends to leave a film of dirt to which moisture can bind, rapidly increasing the tendency to mist up. I find a bit of Autoglym Car Glass polish (not Fast Glass) does the trick.

As Mike says, Rain-X external glass treatment is awesome.

Check that there is no water in the boot around the wheel well area., my edition 30 did this and the boot was full of water !? (due to no drain pipe on the reverse camera though)
