Nasty smells
« on: March 19, 2009, 09:02:01 pm »
No not me, nor the car.

Driving to and from work today and there's some fields on the way and they've all decided to stick manure out. Great for the grass, not so great for my nose.

I drove out with the window down, so it was flippin ripe. Almost started to retch.
Drove back with the windows up but was still getting the smell (albeit massively reduced in stench-power) despite the fan/aircon was switched off.

Without having to resort to turning all the vents off (I have the front passenger one directed at the window to help with demisting and mirror visibility), how can I stop the smell entering the cabin?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Thanks for that nousey!

BTW do you know why there were signs that M42 North was closed at night and what this meant? Been up to Brum a few times in the last few months and as soon as you hit Junction 3a M42/M40 there's a sign saying the M'way's closed at night. Been there at 10pm and there's been no problems WTF?

Yeh I saw the signs on the slip road ramp in the mornings but didn't pay much attention as I don't venture up there @ night  :happy2:
