well this is still happening to my mates, it lost all sats again today.  anyone got any suggestions of the best place to locate the antenna in a mk6 golf?

I have mine up in behind the 2 central vents and it seems to work well. I wrapped the antenna up with felt tape to make it thick enough and wedged it up in there.
I can typically see 11-12 satellites and usually track 6-8 of those.

damn thats where it is and it used to work perfect, he might have to try a new antenna.

Sounds like it must be the antenna, because as per my post above I have just moved mine to this location and the problem is solved.

If possible, get the antenna out so you can move it while the unit is on, then use the GPS status screen to monitor what happens when you move it around.


Have you tried this?

yeah mate tried that and the most it picked up with the antenna outside stuck to the roof was 4/5
