Today coming home i heard a loud bang from the back of the car then a rubbing noise metal on metal turns out that the guard has completely came loose and started rubbing on the disc! has anyone seen this before?? seems a bit strange! now iam goin to have to lift the caliper assembly off and the disc and most likely replace it .

Its a hourendous noise isnt it.
I sometimes get stones between the disc and guard and it makes the same noise

Don't let the stone score your disc though!
I seriously wonder if it's worth having these guards at all. I have them on the front but not on the rear brakes.

I had the same terrible noise the other week and saw that my rear grit guard was extremely close to my disk, I ended up bending the disc guard back a couple of centimetres and so far so good.
