^^^ Because flicking it into 'N' and putting the handbrake is easier and quicker than shifting all the way to P.

yeah but that's just it, i never put it in p unless i've truly parked up, i.e finished the journey. Whenever i came up to lights i just braked to a standstill, keept it in D, left my foot on the brake and when the lights went green moved off the brake and onto the accelerator.

As i say maybe the dsg demands you drive differently to this, i wouldn't know but my experience of driving automatics has never ever involved neutral  :laugh:

I guess yours doesnt have hill hold then ?, mine has it and its very useful on hills

I,m just getting used to my first adventure into DSG..I notice one thing coming from a manual..Hill starts are rubbish..It always drops back before power kicks in.. :scared:

After a week and a half with dsg I'm still getting used to this myself!

Just let your foot off the brake pedal a bit slower to give the clutch a chance to bite!  :happy2:

Keep forgetting to do that!!
