^^^ Because flicking it into 'N' and putting the handbrake is easier and quicker than shifting all the way to P.
yeah but that's just it, i never put it in p unless i've truly parked up, i.e finished the journey. Whenever i came up to lights i just braked to a standstill, keept it in D, left my foot on the brake and when the lights went green moved off the brake and onto the accelerator.
As i say maybe the dsg demands you drive differently to this, i wouldn't know but my experience of driving automatics has never ever involved neutral
