Well the Mclaren looks the nicest so far. Hopefully it can outperform the rest and stiff zee German.  :wink:

My pal did explain it to me as it's something to do with the design of the McLaren not 'needing' the step as the nose is already low enough. It's all something to do with air movement......  :confused:

The rules state the body has to be 'x' high and the nose can be 'x' low, hence why some of the teams have had to 'step' the nose down so drastically.

All the teams with a 'stepped' nose seem to have missed a trick - Surely that front facing slope is a very prominent forward-facing surface for a sponsor's sticker.

Thanks it was a great day! Those vertical fins I believe are part of the telemetry, when they had the testing in Valencia (111km away, thanks Bernie......) one of the mechanics said this so thats what i have always said when people have asked! This guy had a pretty good view as well....



we saw it en route, its a vulture I presume, maybe one of the wildlife boffins can tell me which type. There were two of them, and believe me they were massive. That picture was taken with a 300mm lens and I have closed in further with Photoshop....

It's to mount a pitot tube used to record air flow, speed, pressure etc in the undisturbed air above the car, the Ferrari's and Mclaren were also fitted with them during testing last year :happy2:
