I can see your point as Ruby is probably the nicest guy in F1 and I will always support him wherever he goes (even Fiat!  :stupid:) but it's not really about who deserves it is it?

It's all about the points and whether we like them or not the driver with the most will win it! If it was a 'who deserves' it title Shcummi the cheat  would not have won 7 titles!

I'd also like to see Webber do better but not to the detriment of a british driver.  :happy2:

Steve , I have no problem whatsoever with your comments  :happy2:
however Rubens is a 95% 'r , great guy , undeniable passion but lacking the natural 5% talent that makes you 'special'.
be great for the 'nice guy' to win it but he wont.
I would agree though he has seriously upped his game 2nd half of the season , and driven better than Jenson.
Jenson has seriously dropped the ball , when I would have bet that he could do better (but hasnt).

some deserve the win but never get it
some dont deserve the win but get the lucky breaks
some have the extra 5% that makes you a cut above.

I dont like schumacher as a person , but his talent is undeniable (he's had the jammy breaks too , as well as the FIA  :signLOL:)
tbh Im fed up with F1 this year and focussed on motoGP, roll on next yr .........

Funny but I was thinking exactly the same this afternoon: That it would be so cool if Rubens won the championship. I'm not anti Jenson but just because he's British doesn't make me want him to win - It's not England playing world cup footie.

I don't support drivers or teams according to their nationality - F1 is no longer representative of individual countries. It used to be - Hence the white cars of Germany, the red cars of Italy, the British Racing Green as it was known, the yellow of Belgium, etc. and if the nationality of the driver was different from that of his team's car a stripe would signify his nationality. Those days are long gone.

If Jenson wins the championship I don't think he'll be thought of as one of the greats.

For patriotic reasons I do hope Jenson wins and would be nice to have back to back british champions.  However, I'm not sure any of them have driven like world champs.

Jenson was awesome at the nbegining of the year those drives before Silverstone where masterful and true champion drives.  He has dropped a clannger second half the season and has been so lucky mclaren, Ferrari and Force india have taken points off Red Bull

Rubens has upped his game second half the season with the win in valencia the turning point.  He has not really put in any championship winning drives though.  Agree though for all his years at Ferrari and the fact he seems genuine nice guy

Vettel has been awesome this year and without un-reliablity and a few crash's would have really troubled Jenson otherwise.  At silverstone & Suzaka he was un touchable.

Don't forget both Jens and Ruby had the same car at the beginning of the season and Jenson was the one who won. So the fact Ruby can drive a bad car better than Jenson can drive a good car doesn't make him a more deserved champion!  :happy2:

....Agreed :happy2:

I'd just like Rubens to win the Championship because of his history - I think he deserves it for that.

well its been a few days now and so far so good, no hate mail, horses heads etc.

Greenouse, if im not mistaken didn't Jensen get some factory upgrades that Ruberns didn't have for a few races as part of development, I could be wrong though? and after Webbers amazing recovery I too think he deserves Victory, for anyone to have injuries like that and recover in 9 months is amazing, let alone drive a F1 car as determined and fast as he has been this season.

John 0, I couldnt agree more! I used to dispise Schumy but always admired his tallent however the recent interviews he has done kind of shows a different side to him, admitting he was arrogant, smarmy and dull, but only bacause he was there to win not make friends or entertain the press.  Now, with the weight of his shoulders he can relax and enjoy the other sides to the sport, he does seem a different person and ironicly I was dying for his return to F1 just to see how he compares to everyone (especially hamilton).

Wigit, I bet your so patriotic if I cut you in half you would say "England" like a piece of rock (unless you Scottish, Welsh or Irish lol) but of course I want to see Button win, and lets face it he is going to do it.

Redrobin,  I think your pretty much on my level with the whole ruberns thing.  Altough his move to williams next year should see him with another decent chance, that car is quick in the right hands i think.  Its going to take a non finish for Jensen on Sunday, and whilst I dont wish it on him, we only need to look at Hamilton last year, almost deja vu?

Hammy, I agree with you but I do think Ruberns has put some amazing drives in this year, never every giving up and some of his qualifying has been very good.  But this is the amazing thing about F1, it might not be as entertaining as the BTCC..... MY ALLTIME FAVORITE MOTORSPORT! (unlucky Plato by the way, gutted!) but F1 has the ability to force absolutly everyone into discussion about it, from the drivers, to the cars, to the glamour, sponsorship, pit girls, locations, owners........ everyone worldwide is watching.

Its going to be a big weekend for sure, perhaps the weather looks good for race  day but I have a feeling its going to rain just to add even more spice.

If Rubens doesn't win the Championship I hope that he at least wins his home GP in Brasil.

Stevey, I think it was more a matter of the 'upgrades' being offered to both and only Button taking them up. Could be wrong mind you!  :happy2:
