when Shumacher finds the cars sweet spot and its set up right, and hamilton is concentrated on more than button by the team then Shumacher is going to be all over the podium like rash

he's only been out of F1 for a few years, he's not stopped driving... he's a serious contender with doubters to prove wrong

F1 just got very very exciting  :jumping:

Very tempted to book Silverstone tickets.
Never been before and what a time to go....
Lewis vs Button, Schumi back, Massa, Vettel etc could be a VERY good year.

Thats all very well. Last year is well forgotten in F1..

Brawn did very well with the new regs but 1/2 way through last year they had nowhere to go with the car as everybody else was developing new BIG packages to take advantage of the new/new regs.....can you imagine how Buttons season would have been like if they hadn't had the diffuser decision go their way.

Mclaren for the win....Got a brake customer of mine who has left RBR to join the dark horse of 2010 F1 who is Force India.....yes Force India.....You heard it here first 23:12 23rd December 2009 Force India

Im not convinced Shumi can win the title not sure he has it in him but he will win a few races for sure next yr.

Brawn stopped devloping the car in the summer to concentrate on 2010 car and with merc behind them the car is bound to be competitive.

With Vettel, Lewis, Button, Senna, Alonso, Kubica we could be back to the 80's with a very strong line up

Very tempted to book Silverstone tickets.

I recommend it.  Get a 3 day ticket walk around on Fri finding all the good spots and sit in luffield for the race.  Failing that go to Milan is ace fly by Ryanair to Bergamo stay there for a few days and catch the train to Monza.  Only down side to the race is how quick it is although the atmosphere is immense

Shall we take bets on how long it is before he punts one of the British drivers off with his "win at all costs" style.

He was the reason I stopped watching it before.
I shall continue to watch as I think the grid holds a lot more entertainment than just him but I for one am not happy to see him back.  :chicken:

i like schumacher, he wants to win at all costs. and it always makes for entertaining races.  his last ever race was phenominal.

id still prefer hamilton or button to beat him. i dont think he will be out of touch at all tbh, but i am dubious as to how he'll cope competively with the likes of hamilton, vettel and all the other top drivers out there. i reckon he'll finish in top 5 but he wont win the title

im more dubious about how this no fuel stop thing will mix back in again. i liked the tactical side of the racing where it can all go wrong. it made great viewing imo.

spotted this on another forum  :fighting:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/jan/05/flavio-briatore-life-ban-overturned

The former Renault principal Flavio Briatore had his life ban from Formula One overturned today when a French court ruled that the punishment was illegally imposed by the sport's governing body.

The Italian was banned in September by the FIA for a plot to rig the outcome of the 2008 Singapore grand prix by staging a deliberate crash. "The court ruled the sanction was illegal," said a judge at the Tribunal de Grande Instance.

Briatore had also sought damages of €1m (£899,956) as well as demanding the sentence be lifted but was awarded €15,000 in compensation. "It is almost exactly what we had asked for, this is obviously an exceptional outcome for Mr Briatore," his lawyer, Philippe Ouakrat, said.

He did not know whether Briatore, who did not attend the hearing, would try to return to the sport where he won championships with Benetton and Renault in a career spanning more than two decades.

"Mr Briatore wanted to be free to do what he wants and he did not want an outrageous sanction taken in his absence [to be imposed] and without being able to defend himself," said Ouakrat.

The FIA's lawyer, Jean-François Prat, said the FIA would "very likely" appeal the decision. He declined to make any further comment.

The Brazilian driver Nelson Piquet Jr triggered Formula One's biggest scandal when he was dropped by Renault in July and then told the FIA that he had been ordered to crash deliberately at the 2008 Singapore grand prix.

He said he had done so to bring out the safety car and help his Spanish team-mate, Fernando Alonso, the double world champion who has now joined Ferrari, win the race. Alonso has been cleared of any knowledge of the plan.

Renault were handed a suspended ban while the engineering head, Pat Symonds, who left the team at the same time as Briatore, was banned for five years. The court overturned Symonds' sentence, too, and awarded him €5,000.

Briatore had launched his legal case in October, claiming he had not been given the right to a free and fair defence to the charges. The Italian had highlighted his strained relationship with the former FIA president Max Mosley and described the FIA procedure as a "sham hearing".

The court upheld Briatore's complaint in a written statement: "The decision was taken while the [motor sport] council was chaired by [Mosley], who had notoriously come into conflict with Mr Briatore," it said. "Mr Mosley played a key role in launching [both] the inquiry and the legal process, violating the principle of a separation of the bodies that are responsible for the investigation and for the judgment."

The panel of three judges noted Briatore had been summoned via an email only three days before the FIA hearing, had not been told why he had been charged and that the governing body had not sent him any document regarding the scandal.

Today's ruling had ramifications beyond Formula One, with Briatore also the co-owner of Queens Park Rangers. Had the ban been upheld, Briatore could have been forced out of the Championship club under league rules aimed at ensuring ownership is in the hands of fit and proper persons. Reuters

Had a day off down route today in Nice, jumped on the train to Monaco and walked the circuit after a spot of lunch at Tabac. Theres huge building works going on at the tunnel exit....The exit from the tunnel just wasn't there! so huge construction and resurfacing going on, was good fun to walk it - took about 40 minutes.

I cant be sure but there was a huge lateral tyre mark just where Lewis H. spun off at mirabeau last year and the hairpin kerbing was just Black with not a tyre pattern mark anywhere - just near slick/grooved tyre marks!

My mate took some pics I'll post em up when  I get em
