I hope they just remove all Alonso's points give Massa 25 and allow Vettel take second.

At the end of the day if the driver behind is quicker he will find a way past. It's funny how when Alonso closed the gap Massa then pulled out a 2.5sec lead. Alonso complains he cant get past then Massa gets a bollox decision to move over. :fighting:

Hats off to Massa though. He isn't being embroiled in it and fair play for toeing the party line.

Alonso is very immature and can not stand losing. He has delusions of grandeur and doesn't like the fact that other drivers are better than him. Hence the reason he left McLaren.

I really hope they don't get punished but ONLY because it will be un fair on Massa.

It is a shame for Massa, and totally dont agree with it, but the fact is team orders happen in every team weather its made public or not is a different story.

wasnt happy with massa lettin alonso by but was even less happy with christian horner the principal for red bull tryin to land them in the sh!t by sayin that was team orders favouring alonso, of course it was.
but is he conveniently forgetting at silverstone that his team took the new design front wing off webbers car and gave it to vettel, all-be-it different circumstances, but still favouring one driver over the other when both drivers are fighting for the championship.

like i said team orders are prohibited in F1 but the fact is they still happen in EVERY team, in this case it was deliberate and made public.

PS Eddi Jordan is a wee w4nk aswell,  :signLOL:

Hey, guys, F1 (any sport) isn't run by the fans and their 'expert' opinions, nor by the media. As any professional racing driver will tell you, the goal is for the TEAM to win. That's how enough money is attracted into the sport so that motorsport actually happens. So, Ferrari did what they deemed in their best TEAM interests whether it was too transparent or not.

Having said that, my favourite current driver is Felipe Massa and although I am a Ferrari fan I detest Alonso irrespective of his driving skills. I feel absolutely gutted for Felipe but he acted totally professionally  :notworthy: - He's a team player.

Now reading that Ferrari have been fined £65k, I think that giving back Massa first place and Alonso second would have been more just, but I'm not the stewards.

....Fair enough if you don't agree but it ain't quite as black 'n white as you say. Some fans may give up on it because they can't see the wood for the trees, but there are still plenty enough fans worldwide to justify the money being put into F1.

Anyone who, as a result of today's controversy, stops watching F1 will be cutting off their nose to spite their face :stupid:.

Rightly or wrongly, controversy such as happened today also attracts a lot of people. Also, let's not forget that the racing looked good and this season has been particularly good for watching racing.

Robin you cant honestly believe that was for the good of the team.

If they hadn't ordered that change they still would have had a Ferrari 1,2 so in this instance it was not for the benefit of the team it is because Alonso is a jumped up little tw@ and for some reason Ferrari bowed to his pressure.

....Ferrari said that favouring the faster car was for the benefit of the team, not me. I would have much preferred to see a proper race where Alonso was left to try to overtake Massa. The point I was making is that every team has to base its decisions on the bigger picture whether popular with the drivers or the fans or not popular - Ferrari did what they thought was right at the time but I don't agree with them.

I detest Alonso even more after today and his gesticulating and uttering "ridiculous" - Who the feck does he think he is!? Arrogant tw@t!

I wasn't implying you said it mate  :drinking:

I was just saying you can't honestly believe they made that decision for the benefit of the team. They waffled a load of bollox saying Massa was backing Alonso into Vettel. Well if that was the case all they had to say to Massa was to push on a bit. If he was backing him into Vettel though then why did Vettel not overtake Massa

Im sorry i completely disagree that Ferrari did that for the Team today. They bowed to Alonso and his hissy fits. Alonso needs taking down a couple of notches and Ferrari need to understand they are not bigger than the FIA

I think it would have been unfair on Massa if they had. At least he remained a true professional and took into consideration the interests of the team not his own. Unlike Alonso the arrogant little sh!t

I would have thought that all that gained from a flagrant breach of rules (brought in after a Ferrari team orders fiasco in Austria 2002) should be penalised. I was expecting; Ferrari to be docked all constructors points from this race, Alonso to be docked points & result, Massa to be awarded first, Vettel second and so forth.

A $100,000 fine to the team with the biggest budget in F1? Ever seen a mouse rape an elephant?

Is it coincidental that the head of the FIA 'Little Napoleon' Jean Todt was the former principal of Ferrari?

A sad day for Formula One.
