Is my conclusion right?
You're fitting a Rocco R engine instead of the 2,0 TSI one right??

Over the top mod list ;o)

I can see it's a TFSI Steve, but when you need a new wiring loom the obvious choice must be a Scirocco R. Why not max. the 2,0 TSI out with a K04 solution, apparently the make some very healthy figures

Over the top mod list ;o)

Hi Danish, you obviously havent read my full build as the tsi was maxed out with the k03 and blew 2 turbos , for a lot of reasons stated in the build they will keep doing it, oil starvation being the biggest culprit, and the engine basically being sh*te for track work! While it may be ok on the road, it just doesn't cut it on track and IMHO isn't good at all for this kind of abuse! Yes it will pull good figures but won't last, hope this clears it up.

Hi Danish, yes it's a rocco r engine conversion obviously stronger internals etc... As for the tsi, you obviously havent read my full build as the tsi was maxed out with the k03 and blew 2 turbos , for a lot of reasons stated in the build they will keep doing it, oil starvation being the biggest culprit, and the engine basically being sh*te for track work! While it may be ok on the road, it just doesn't cut it on track and IMHO isn't good at all for this kind of abuse! Yes it will pull good figures but won't last pal hope this clears it up.

I hear you, i just keep hearing how good figures the TSI is making. But being a Big TFSI fan i understand your reasoning  :drinking:

Yes I know the figures are good I've been there, but what is pushing good numbers without reliability!

To be honest, I am surprised to hear this about the TSI engine. My TFSI is clocking up the mileage and one thing I was considering was swapping for a TSI when it goes and doing the same job with the wiring looms...but in reverse of what is going on here.

Is the current thinking that sticking with a TFSI would be a better idea and keeping my K04?

Again I am surprised as all the talk when the TSI came out was how much more robust it was (but that may only be down to HPFP and chain driven cam) and Jim @ JKM was telling me recently how well he was getting on with his TSI Octavia with APR K04 and Revo map and he knows his way around a track or two.

Cheers Shaun - when it goes pop, I think I'll follow your advice. Reconfiguring the wiring looms looks like a nightmare anyway!
