Seriously guys I went  through Moneysupermarket.com, the best quote was with Admiral,it just gives you a drop down menu to select your modification, engine mapping comes up and that is it.On checking the same quote with or without mod the difference is actualy £9pa !!! Needless to say I couldn't believe it either, so I proceeded with the policy and checked with Admiral who were more than happy and helpful.Job done fully comp for £285 with legal cover and Prot NCB.

I'm glad it raised a laugh..although it was accidental on my part. I was really just wondering how much extra oomph the car now had, with only a £12 rise on insurance. Seemed like a reasonable question to me..but hey, I'm new to all of this! I may need help..

It seemed like you thought the £12 was the cost of the remap  :P

Stage 1 on a GTI will give you roughly 30-40bhp extra.

Just taken advantage of Sharks summer offer, STS landed today, standard map was emailed to them for 'tweaking 45 minutes later.  Fingers crossed I will get an email back tomorrow with a very tasy attachment!  :rolleye:

On the subject of insurance, something to be careful of on the money supermarket sites, when companies offer insurance on cars with 'engine chipping' for insurance purposes this is NOT the same as mapping.
