Zanussi and Bosch are meant to be highly recommended.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Guys talking about washing machines?! This is all wrong
I use mine to wash my detailing microfibres and towels for the car. One cycle with soda crystals to get the washing powder out. Soak microfibres in Chemical Guys Microfibre wash, chuck in washing machine, add non-bio liquitab (sans fabric softener) and a decent dose of vinegar (the clear stuff). Wash on wool setting. Either hang dry or low-temp in dryer, taking them out before fully dry and allowing to air-dry.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I had a quick whizz around the shops yesterday evening so I could see the things in the metal before hitting the internet for prices
We got the lg 8kg one its been excellent  reviews
These things sure look cool

We bought a Miele 500 or 5000 something or other over 8 years ago and its used twice a day without missing a beat.
Also got a free 10 year warranty with it.  Must be the vw of washing machines :happy2:
                        Money well spent
Andy, I bought a Miele about 10 years ago and wouldn't buy anything else.

It was the cheapest one at 500 quid but fit and forget.

defo worth a look.
:happy2:  I've always been a bit of a closet Miele fan as they're built like tanks, only two issues I can see, one is the Missus moaning about the cost and the other is if I don't get a very long warranty any repairs are going to be a bit £££
John Lewis ones are rebadged AEG / Zanussi machines and get good reviews plus a 2 year warranty as standard.  Worth a look.
Well I certainly didn't know that, so thanks, they're doing 5 year warranties on some of them right now so these could be the dark horse late contenders!

A big thanks to everyone who has replied here, much food for thought!

Go for a bosch again our one just jacked it 10 days ago and had been on the go for 8 years it was only the brushes on the motor but my misses insisted we had to get a new one because it was too old, so i stripped the machine down and sold the motor and control unit for £80 on ebay, which gave me £80 for a new bosch !

The lass in the the shop recommended the lg as it was brushless, silent and direct drive, but just went for the bosch because they last ages compared to other machines!

Spares? For a Miele? Why would you need them?

In ten years of ownership I have not bought a single spare.

The only thing I have had to do not buy is take the lid off and squeeze the soap dispenser pipe because the wife wont listen and puts too much in!

And anyway the spares for the Miele Vacuum Cleaner were quite cheap.

Ah bollocks! I've done it, one Miele ordered, one bank account emptied.

I can't believe I've just spent that much on a bloody washing machine!

Thanks all  :happy2:

I've bought a Bosch logixx 8 vario perfect today, the bloke in Apollo 2000 was well clued up on them he told me that it's only the logixx range that are built in Germany the others are made in Poland, they use magnets instead of brushes so nothing to wear really
