Wheel Refurb - Pescys Colour?
« on: July 22, 2011, 12:00:22 pm »
Hi All  :happy2:

I reckon I'm going to need new tyres on the front shortly, so was going to get my wheels at the same time. Found a place that will shot blast/powder/spray/lacquer them...

So now trying to decide what colour... car is Reflex Silver.

Do I go standard silver - and just be MINT.

Or go for something different, gloss black, anthracite? Had gloss black 1.2's on my R32 and did look smart...

Any help/advice/suggestions appreciated.

Dom

Anthracite would look good, personally I tend to prefer darker wheels on a silver car. Black might end up looking like you've lost your wheels trims  :signLOL:

personally i wouldn't go any darker than anthracite as to me looks a little odd. personal opinion of course  :fighting: lol. I am having the same dilema atm. want to get my wheels refurbed with black inserts or get some ed30 bbs ones but then i will have the same problem when selling the car. Spose i could keep both sets but thats greedy lol. I get the impression that most people who would buy an edition 30 are into cars, so having slightly darker alloys shoudlnt put them off.  Id go with it and worry about it later  :signLOL:

I just went for the finish that they do on the 25th anniversary edition wheel. Looks a little bit like black chrome / shadow chrome finish and very close to the ball burnished finish that was on the 25th anni wheels. There is a pic of the finish on the aerocoat homepage: http://www.aerocoat.net/ Now I haven't seen them in the flesh but from the images I have seen the wheels appear lighter or darker in different lighting conditions.

Got my wheels back from Aerocoat today and I am very impressed with their work.

Couple of pics are below and more are in my members ride thread here http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,31354.msg403321.html#new

Will post some more pics once I get them on the car which hopefully will be by the end of the week  :happy2:

I've had quite a few different wheels on the ED30. I must say that I preferred black/darker colours on it.

Those Pescy's look good in that refurb colour Steve :happy2:
