How are your colour coded exterior door mouldings held on?

Posting on behalf of a friend

How are the colour coded exterior door mouldings held on?
They appear to be stuck on with adhesive but we need to know if there are any fasteners also

any help would be appreciated  :happy2:

Thanks, thats what i thought. Has anyone taken them off before? My pal was thinking of using dental floss  :grin:

I use dental floss to remove badges... has to be the minty stuff... works a treat

Use a plastic spreader. Can get them from halfrauds for a couple of quid :smiley:

I'm sure there will be fasteners and holes behind them, there was on the mk4

It would appear that there are holes in the door panel as well.
Here is a door with filler in it from someone who got rid of the mouldings.
Without traction power is nothing!

Never used to like the smoothed look, but it is growing on me to look quite flash on show MK5's.
Would like to do it myself, but fear of Asda moms would scare me too much. :surprised:

Don't hold ne to this because I can't remember ther last time I took one off but I'm pretty sure the holes are for little guides that are on the back of the moulding so when you stick it on,  it goes on straight. Audis are the same. They are just litte nobbley bits that fit into the holes on the door.
