Would I be within my rights to have the bonnet and wings painted so as not to leave any color mis match?

Keano has plenty of pics from the detail a couple of weeks ago showing fully matching paint...

I'm pretty sure that if your not happy with the match when it comes back you can reject it and send it back to be re-done, Mike..

A member on SCN needed to sell his Cupra. He ended up having to trade in at dealer for a quick sale.

I assured him I would appreciate the footrest more than the dealer

So, just been to the Seat \ VW \ Audi dealer for an estimate...

They whipped the splitter off for me to make it safe to drive until fixed

Its definately having a new bumper.  I struggled to make it clear I want it all to be a perfect match, going to take a translator on Monday as my german is good but not when it comes to specific motoring questions, especially when I want piece of mind that my car is going to be 100%

Im going to ask for an alignment as she probably drove into my wheel while scraping past.

What are peoples thoughts on me getting the fog grills and lower front grill sprayed gloss black (at my own expense) while its in the body shop?

Found a duff oil seal while it was on the ramps so will be getting that fixed too

:happy2: BIG +1 on gloss black...will look fab!  sure they will be able to get an exact match if the whole bumper is being replaced.

Grilles always seem to chip easily.  But they will look really good in gloss black.  See if they have any ceramic lacquer as that stuff is great at withstanding impacts.  My grille is painted and lacquered with the ceramic stuff has still has no chips after a year.  Bonnet is fecked though.

Re: Tfsi Mikes Money Pit :: Heat wrapped ITG

Well had a compression test this morning as cyl 3 is counting a missfire at idle.  Showed healthy.

Going to try injector cleaner to see if it's sticking injector.

Got my CTEK battery conditioner, ace little bit of kit.

Then spent this lunchtime Wrapping my ITG in heat reflective tape.....

Under side of the heatshield;

Waiting for Snap on seat cover, OSIR footrest, Fuel Filter. Oh and autobrite snow foam and posh towel.

Goes into dealer on Monday to repair bumper from dizzy cow driving into me, also getting them to paint fog & lower grills gloss black.  Oil seal needs replacing on pipe going into intercooler too.

busy time for you Mike with the car considering the unfortunate supermarket incident!  like the idea of the heat reflective sheeting...good thinking that.
