I am a bit skeptical about the massive drop off as well hurdy, would like to see if it happens on further runs to eliminate dodgy readings as some of the other runs mike did had very odd data!  I did this one after the one mike posted about which does show that the boost pressure goes significantly above specified at the same time as the drop in mass air flow and this also co-insides with the start of the miss-fire on cylinder 3....

The overboost is quite typical of the K04 engines on a remap. Mine used to do exactly the same, but didn't have the drop off in the MAF reading. The miss-fire on cylinder 3 could be anything and without further investigation is an unknown quantity. Usually the missfires are either a failing coilpack or improperly fitted/failing sparkplug. The drop in the MAF reading, coinciding with the missfire I'd take a stab at the MAF being faulty/partially blocked as the engine would try and compensate for the low MAF reading and alter the inputs to the engine for the fuel and air - this would show as an unusual reading on the Air fuel ratio reading on VCDS when you log it. - HTH :happy2:

Okay so I fitted the new revision PVC today...

Hasn't made any difference to the misfire but now when I remove the dipstick the engine now runs roughly.

Taking the MAF out at work Tomo to see if it's clean and undamaged.

Have an injector in the post but MAF wouldn't require labour costs....

Wonder if I could've killed the new plugs or coils driving it with the misfire?!  :scared:

Aha, has anyone looked at the possibility you may have a faulty N75 valve. I had mine replaced on the old ed30 for a similar fault. Plenty of threads on here for you to read to see if your car has similar symptoms.

Yes, I had a misfire AND uneven idle. Replaced the N75 valve and cured it. Not that expensive to replace either.

Although I'm against throwing money at diagnosing a fault before thorough investigated / logged.
Cheaper bits like n75 aren't so bad and if mine it's okay it will serve as a spare.

Thanks John  :happy2:

i dont understand how the n75 valve causes a misfire at idle ... the ecu wouldnt even be asking for any boost so the turbo would be sitting below atmospheric pressure ? if the n75 was broken it would obviosly make the turbo impossible to controll giving the call full boost all the time ? no? im confused by this . . .

his missfire isnt at idle you can see in the graph above it occurs just after maximum boost.

Initially basic measuring was counting a missfire at idle.

As it's got worse (when I logged it) it misses through the rev range

John suggested he had a rough idle and missfire so for the sake of €25 euros it won't hurt to renew the N75

Whipped MAF out to have alook.  Plug connections look fine no corrosion etc after all the jet washing.

However there was a fair bit of resudue on the body & inside the sensor itself
