Should be fine. even on rainy days the track dries out quick and you find enough time to get out there, you dont really want to be doing more than 10- 15 minute sessions in a heavyish car, everything gets hot and noisy and you feel like you are killing your pride and Joy.

I'm not sure how long the track is etc, but remember,

When u pull in off the track Do not put the handbrake on after a few feisty laps.

Let em cool down for a while before going back out  :happy2:

(Stick some drawing pins all round the handbrake!!! You won't touch it then)

And when you think oh I'll just do one more lap, don't! Make sure you take breaks to stay fresh. Be confident but not over confident - Respect the circuit. Don't think about lap times as a novice, just enjoy it. I know you will, Mike - Have a really great day!  :drinking:

Have a good one mie just take it easy on your first outing and you will have a cracker! Just know your limits and don't push to hard as it can be a totally different kettle of fish on track as opposed to the road. Get your tyres up to temp before you start giving it real beans to give you a lot better grip. And above all enjoy it. :happy2:

I can imagine the bug will bite hard!  :driver:

Not only am I still going, I'm spending my family time beforehand in Fife on exercise for 6 weeks and unable to book a holiday in between because the deployment date could be announced anytime  :fighting:

It's slipped to the right 3 months now so I miss Harry's 1st birthday and possibly 1st Xmas  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :sad1:

Hey Mike, Where if Fife are you going?
You will need to get a couple 1/4 mile sprints in at Crail  :driver:

Fantastic day   still on a high, though an hour on the train will soon bring me back down to earth

Car didnt miss a beat. The turn in and grip were outstanding!  Had a fair bit of annoying arch contact even after raising another 5-10mm and removing the arch liners.  Hardly did it with just me in the car.

Had 20mins tuition which helped.  When people started going home and the circuit was a bit clearer it was easier to practice what he had said.  Managed some smoother less aggressive but equally quick laps at the end.   Only got out of shape once or twice but not in a big way  :innocent:  what I took away from it was to try and focus ahead and to look where I want the car to go also I can go just as quick by taking nicer lines without ringing he cars neck  :ashamed:

The car turned in and gripped amazingly but the surface was pretty evil on tyres!

Me and my mate in his 205gti were the last 2 to leave!

Was great to meet up with James again 'JimKo4'. Was my Mk5 Gti team support vehicle

4.2 rover/ Capri who I lent the jack & axle stands to as they had some oil circulation problems

Fire blade powered kit car I scrounged a lift in...

Was a great few laps!

Our cars liquid lunch...

Cannot wait to get the top mounts I have on order with AKS Tuning, Alex reckons the extra stiffness and a touch more arch fettling should put an end to my arch rubbing stresses

Another oil change then save for Bedford
