Diamond Cut Monza Care???
« on: July 27, 2011, 08:26:45 pm »
As title suggests wanting to know what ppl would recommend for sealing monzas as mine are going in next week to be re diamond cut. and wanting them to stay lookin good for as long as.

I know a weekly wheel wash will be required weather the rest of the car gets it or not.

sealer applied every couple of months I am lead to believe aswell.

What shampoo, Sealer, and a microfibre mit ok to use.  also if the worst comes and I do have an incident with a kerb, is there a lacquer or anythin that can be applied to stop moisture getting in and causing the unsightly white worm?

Any advice on the above would be great.  :happy2:

Bilberry wheel cleaner is highly rated and should be safe on monza's, im in process of getting some along with poorboys wheel sealent as mine were recently refurbed prior to me buying the car.

I use a microfibre kinda brush to wash mine with then normal microfibre with the wheel sealant.

Seal with Poorboys Wheel Sealant (two coats), then wax with Collinite 476s (again two applications).

I've always used AG EGP or Collinite 476 which has worked well. I never use any strong cleaners other than regular cars wash/wax products.

I just had my car professionaly detailed today by a Swissvax detailer and had their Autobahn product applied which is supposed to be super tough.

I inspect the wheels whenever I wash them (very frequently) and use regular bodywork clear lacquer should I spot any minor chips.
I always dry with a fluffy miocrofibre cloth and apply an aquaphobic QD like Clearkote Quikshine.

+1. This is what I use.

Also use bilberry wheel cleaner and a raceglaze style brush, shampoo with my usual wash shampoo, rinse, clay, polish and seal.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
