Fabia vRS Update: Its APR time!!!!!!!
« Reply #259 on: March 21, 2012, 02:59:47 pm »
Superb figures so far but I am wondering how tractable it will be on the high boost map  :rolleye:
I was wondering if the wheel power is correct, as that seems to be a massive 66bhp power loss through the transmission :surprised:

I've been thinking about this abit as the losses do seem high.

As said before due to wheelspin it had to be strapped down much tighter, I had to sit in the car with the operator, with guys sat on the engine to stop it spinning up.  They said the MAHA measures losses during the coast down so maybe with the extra weight and tighter straps it results in larger drive train losses......

Don't know tbh.  Ill be trying a dyno dynamics roller soon so we'll see what I get on there

scooby clinic is an option but about 40mile away.  Theres 3 dyno dynamics local to us, plus in shoot out mode dyno dynamics rollers are pretty comparable when it comes to figures.  Mikes also going to be coming.  We could always make it a meet.  Were thinking sometime between the 30 Mar - 6 Apr

I was going to say a meet would be good but im in cornwall between those times on them lovely twisty country roads. Im keen to find out what my Octy is producing since it was last rolling roaded and to get some datalogs.  See if all that money spent was worth it .

Its got a decat downpipe, although im going to go for a CAT on the exhaust instead.

Basically the high boost maps not only provide alot more power, but also huge midrange torque which is the biggest issue.  DeCATs give big torque gains low down so im thinking if i go for a 200cell cat in a downpipe it will limit the torque a little.

Hi Sy.
Are you going to add the 200cell cat to your current downpipe? Reason I ask is I've just followed suit, and have got a LO270 on order along with some other bits!.
So I've not got much budget left for a new downpipe.

I only know of APR doing software for this at the moment, are there any others?

I've ordered a ITG maxogen filter, HR springs and a smaller battery so I can have the polo filter.

Not ordered an IC, was thinking it could wait until after my little tour.

What would be better for cooler running, IC or larger downpipe?
