For cooling there's no substitute for an intercooler really.  Maybe water methanol injection but that has risks in its own right.

So far it is only APR offering software but that's not complete yet.  REVO aren't ibterested at all in developing.  Jabbasport were keen to do it though.  APR have my car between may-nov to complete the mapping development.

Id have said going stage 1 first with your intake and then when you have the funds get a DP and intercooler fitted with the loba and go straight to the 2++ setup would be the best option.  I wouldn't be happy running stage 2 on the stock Ic for to long.  Mine ran really hot, so I dread to think how hot it would get with a high boost hybrid running 250-270hp without one.

Have you got the LOBA already?

Looks like if you go APR stage 1 you'll not have to oay for a software upgrade to stage 2+ after

FWIW, when you buy any Stage 1,2 or 2+ APR software at offered price, upgrades or downgrades to Stage 1,2 or 2+ are free.  You only have to pay for software again if you go ko4 with someone else's hardware kit besides ours.

The pace intercooler and radiator kit will shed £1100 from your wallet.

Have ordered already, if they agree to upgrade free of charge then I might just do that until I get everything in place.

Forge should have their intercooler out soon, its been along time in development but it should be cheaper than the pace kit because it doesn't include the radiator.  Id eexpect around £700

Did you have a need for a larger radiator? I've never seen my thermostat move over 90'c. I know oil temp can rise vary quickly

I logged water temps at rockingham and they went well above 100° all the time peaking at just over 120° iirc but the analogue dial never moved above 90°.

Also this engine eats coiloacks and sparkplugs which dealers say is heat related.  There's massive backligs on those parts through warranty repairs.

Made a noticable difference to the engine bay temperature as well.  This was with the shark map running 1.6 bar of boost peak dropping to 1.1bar.  The hybrid map when comlete will run 1.8bar peak dropping to around 1.5bar at redline.

That's a lot more heat to contend with, but imcomfortable knowing I've taken measures to reduce it.

Theoul cooler is still on my list though.  Hit 120-128°C oil temps on track.  That's approaching the maxbefore viscosity drops.  Optimum oil temp is something like 87°C iirc.  I'm running Motul 300V at the moment which canhandle upto 140°C before loosing its viscosity below limits

They might do on the tfsi but they said there is no way they will take the 1.4TSI development past the current stage 2 offering because of the engine difficulties. Its not just a hybrid thing, but also big turbos, they are simply not interested in further development on ours at all.  Prob to do with their Ibiza lunching its engine and a couple of ibizas off scn doing the same

Ive been spending to much time around TFSI_Mike and im looking at vinyl wraps that have been applied to other Fabias.  Leons been photoshopping my car.  Whats your thoughts guys.  Its getting lowered next month on ASts so that issue is out of the way.  Was also thinking of maybe getting my big brake kit sprayed white, or should i do it black?

How it is now

With some black on the lower spoiler

Some black on the lower spoiler and tinted headlights like the new black pack vRS setup

A wider black lower splitter with tinted headlights
