I guess the question is.....should it be at the Milton Keynes APR  HQ?

Or is it now over at Race Developments where all the cars APR break go? .......... Allegedly! :signLOL:

I don't think any of the cars have gone to race developments so far, just all the engines.

So what is next on the plan Sy?

Sell the VRs and get something else?

From what I gather, Race Developments do all the engine building for them as there is no one n house to do it.

The vRS is going.  I have no faith in its reliability which completely ruins the ownership of the car.  That aside its a great package though so its a shame.

Whats next is anyones guess.  Im looking at second hand big luxury barges(7 series, E or S class etc) for around £6-7k and a ready built ready to race track car from the likes of piston heads for around £3-4k.

That said, id love to come back to a 2.0TFSI platform again but a pure stealth setup that no one wil know is modified.

Id like a 2,0TFSI A3 Quattro, with Power: K04 turbo, APR HPFP, S3 cooler, stock intake, stock exhaust (Precat removed) custom software, then Chassis: Lower engine mount, TT lower arms & top mounts for extra neg camber, Uprated ARBs, S3 brakes with 2 piece TRD 345mm discs/Pagid pads and poly bushes whilst still on stock suspension(maybe an upgrade to S3 spec at most)

Something that has masses of grip, 100% stock ride quality and height, loads of cornering grip, loads of braking performance, and easily over 300Hp with none of the noise or whooshing to give it away.  All in a reserved looking A3 lol.  That seems interesting to me for some reason.  :innocent:

Whenever someone is selling their car, especially since a lot of money and passion was put into it is a very sad moment  :sad1:.
The reason for the sale is even sadder  :sad1: !
Looking forward to seeing your next build thread!

I was roughly in the same boat as you Sy, except the Polo was still running well and it was the unwillingness of tuners and the worry of if/when it would go wrong. :scared:

sorry to hear this!

S3 or twin car route. Tempting!

Seeing as you like trackdays though id say go the twin car route. Those clio cups are soooooo cheap to run. 30 pounds for uprated brembo brakes discs, costs me 300 just for sh*tty stock ttrs ones.

Track ready toy time  :happy2:

The twin car route might well be getting axed.

My car insurance phoned me up for my mondeo run about and told me my no claims bonus that I used cannot be applied to the Mondeo because it is being used on the Fabia policy and it can only ever be used on one policy.

I argued that it was me who has earnt the no claims, not the car, but in their eyes the car has the no claims and I need to build up a second set of no claims on the other car.  I then asked what happens if i crash one car, do i lose both sets of no claims to the answer ...Yes.  He didnt agree that contradicted his first point though  :fighting:

I have two cars:  #1 Fabia vRS worth 10k highly modified. 250hp.  #2 Mondeo 1.8LX worth £200. 115Hp.

The mondeo costs me over twice the amount of the Fabia despite being 50 times cheaper, un modified and less than half the power!!!  Im not willing to pay that, its ridiculous

Anyway, long story short, Ill be getting one motor for the time being.  Not sure what, there isnt a huge amount for sale near me tbh, and the nearest track is about 200 miles away, so i might just get a luxury barge with some nice power to tide me over for the next 2 years whilst im living on the north coast of scotland especially as im only doing about 400 miles a month.

Update on the Fabia.........

APR reckon it should be ready this week.     Not the first time ive heard that though.

Stock turbo is going on this week as is the stock IC/radiator.  WMI is coming off for mikes Cupra, then the rest comes off as soon as its back up here.  hopefully by July, I wont own a Fabia...

Who are you insured with? Have you tried another Insurance Company to see if they do the same?
