Well if its the Mountune workshop. ...about 90 mins whilst the parts are fitted. Considerably less time than the last build.

You mean Sy actually gets to drive a car he's purchased rather than have to buy another while it's parked in Milton Keynes.  :surprised:

I have the rear motor mount installed now buddy and it does make a difference, not massive but you can tell its there.

No no  no no

Remap of some sort, probably mountune tbh, that is it for power options.  The lower engine mount is definitely needed, it does suffer wheel hop and axle tramp a fair bit IMO.  A rear ARB is a definite, and maybe an LSD.   Brakes will get a set of good pads and some fluid, but that aside, its getting nothing else done to it.

Ive been officially put off modifying by the last debacle!!

No chance  .  this doesnt need much to be a great car, its already 90% there.  A smidgeon of extra power and very minor handling goodies and it'll be perfect.  This is why i went back to a Ford.

Some good figures coming out of the 2.0 ecoboost, Daz over on the FocusSTOC has the TBE, Bluefin and CAI and that is pushing short of 300hp and a massive 435ft lb :scared: There is a couple of cars over there on decent power with bolt ons. There biggest problem with the ST is its brakes.  And yes the ST's mani is integrated into the head but if you was to go further with a more free flowing mani and big turbo you could fit the Mondeo 2.0 ecoboost head, with has a separate manifold.

I was shocked at how restrictive the CAT back system is on the ST.  On VAGs it gives pretty much 0Hp.  On the ST it gave nearly 17Hp!!!!

Brilliant cars!! ... I'd deffo recommend the 'staying sensible and just enjoy it 24/7 route'.

Safe to say APR haven't changed their ways then, eh.
Sideways yo!

Looking at that graph it looks like it had some wheel spin on the rollers low down. From previous Fords I have owned they have all benefited from a cat back. My RS made 8bhp with a Milltek cat back and another 14bhp with the ggr sports cat downpipe.

How is the car running? I fitted the ST air box and its made a massive difference under wot. Next mod is the powerflex rear engine mount insert to stop engine movement without any increased vibrations.

The car is running really well.  She has just been in for some factory updates after i checked ETIS and found my car hadnt been updated since it had rolled off the factory floor a year ago, so i lied about some symptoms and got her fully upto date with all the software.

Ive taken her on a trackday at Knockhill.  Loved the track, but most of all i absolutely loved driving the ST round the track despite it being completely stock.  It might not be remotely near as quick on the road or track as the Fully tweaked stage 2+ Octy vRS or Stage 3 Fabia VRS were but its so much more fun.  The only thing it needs is a better brake setup.  Power wise, believe it or not, i never once though the car needed any more power at that track.  The lower engine  mount might be an option because it does wheel hop in the wet but otherwise, i think ive found my perfect car!!

Got some vids from Knockhill

Looks like it needs a few extra horsies to me Sy. An extra 50bhp and some bigger brakes and it will stop all those cars passing you.

TBH hurdy I wasnt thrashing the car; the hairpin should be taken in 2nd if you want to make proper progress out of the bend; i was using 3rd.  I was also lifting off 50metres or so before the braking point for corners as well as changing up early on the straights to limit the braking issues.  All it needs are better brakes.  Anyone can drive a car fast in a straightline, to me thats not exciting.  Corners are exciting and whether running 800Hp or 250Hp, it wont change the cornering speed.

Obviousy it will be going stage 1 at some point, Im not in a rush for it though.  I think with the last couple VAGS ive had, they have needed the power upgrades early to make them more exciting to live with, this one doesnt have that issue.

Gradually building things up this time then. Good idea, I've been slowly building mine too keep the thrill of the build going.

tbh the term building it up doesnt relate to my plans really as its not being bult up to anything.  Just stage 1 and brakes.  Almost like having a stock Mk2 Focus RS.  My last few motors just like yours have been built with a distinct power and handling aim.
