KPM TDI
« on: July 27, 2011, 01:12:48 pm »
so, its time for some of you to see our latest achievement, it started life as a 140bhp 2 litre TDI BKD courier car (smashed)

in true KPM fashion it was stripped and rebuilt from the ground up.......

and what we are left with is a 280 BHP race ready 2 litre TDI.

it has 500nm of torque, which in simple terms means it can drive up a flagpole (towing another Mk5)

it did one run on the rolling road at 309BHP, although i felt this might be demanding a little to much from the little courier. so we settled at 280.

it will be interesting to see what some of you think as there seems to be more and more dieselheads out there.

theres still a few jobs to do but the idea is that we will be running the car in thailand for the second half of the season.

i will make anything fit anything, but im not sure you would want to spend 10k, (yes ten thousand pounds sterling) on injectors!!!!!!!

primarily if you smack the side of these racecars, which they do regularly, its much more cost effective and less time consuming to change a door skin, and even door than it is to put a rear quarter on one. we measured about 40kilos difference between a four door shell and a two door shell but then we run to a weight which we nearly always have to bolt weight in to make the cars legal. there is no relevant difference between the stiffness of a 4 and a 2 door car.

I KNOW!!! You havent heard the best yet, for that discounted price, they dont even include the cost of injectors, you supply them your standard units and they re-profile and re laser drill the miniscule holes all the way round the injector. you do however get a lovely bosch motorsport cardboard box with real bosch motorsport tape around it. - i think that is how they justify the cost.
