most popular are Eibach and probably H&R. I've Eibach Sportlines fitted to my GTI and I think the drop's just right. Believe the H&Rs sit lower, mind.

H&R race springs and Eibach prolines are a bit stiff and not really low enough for my taste.
However, H&R supersport springs and Eibach sportline springs are lower and retain a bit of comfort.
I used to have the Eibach sports and now have H&R supersports. Both had similar drop and comfort,
but H&R was a bit lower at the front end, and is the reason I swapped them

I have lowtec springs fitted to my r32 and they are great you can get them on www.madeone.com phone them up and speak to Chris top guy I'm sure he could better any quote for h&r springs and over on r32oc these things have been getting bought by everyone not one bad review an they seem to drop the car lower than h&r at the front which makes the stance look almost like coilovers but the ride comfort just feels like stock

Beddie has 20mm VWR springs and he seems to like them a lot and has done a fair share of track days on them!

We can do these for £190 delivered for forum members  :happy2:

There are a set of 50mm H&R springs for the Golf 5 that are listed as being for the 2.0 FSI, 2.0 TDI etc so I think these would be fine for the GTI. However, H&R don't have the GTI listed for these so we don't put them in the GTI section. Personally I think 30mm is enough on standard dampers and gives a good stance.

Don't really think this is any help for you with this being in the US, but they usually have lowest prices:

In answer to your question "No"

GNJ Motorsport are talking about 30mm drop springs and the ones you have posted up from Awesome are 35mm drop.

Same makes but different drops

Whats also intersting is know body has said if they are for a manual GTi or DSG, as there is two different spring ratings for these cars.
