Knocked one up today.... made it out of solid ali bar which is pointless and sh*tty to drill... so use the hollow bar that beddie suggested.

Slightly different design, allows some sideways movement so its a bit more adjustable.

Sorry to get the shovel out...    :scared:

Don't know how I missed this thread first time around, I just google'd some DIY track mounts and this mega contraption appeared Steve @Beddie    :pomppomp:

Have you tried it in any other vehicles with success, or is it MK5 specific because of the headrest mount clip positioning? I want to know one up (it'll be more ghetto than yours) but it'll need to be flexible as I've used my velcro straps in an e46 M3, RS265 Megane, Cayman and M135i. I've no idea if the headrest gap on all of the aforementioned is different or not (all Nurburg rentals for the Norschleife )

I might need to make mine a cable tie jobby so it can be universal to fit different vehicles - thoughts?

 :happy2:

Basically no it wont work with those. The car needs to have headrest posts. (so no recaros)

All of the above barring the Cayman GTS had standard seats with regular headrests, Rich, so it's achievable.
We also lapped in an R26R a few times  and that did have Recaros, however.

I just assume the headrest strut gap differs between models which will make it tricky for a universal solution?  :ashamed:

The Megane doesnt have head rest poles either.
